Methodism has a long history in Fannin County with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South founded in 1877 in Morganton, GA. In 1939, Blue Ridge Methodist Church was founded with the joining of the congregations from Trinity Methodist Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the Methodist Protestant Church. In 1968, the Methodist Church denomination and the Evangelical United Brethren merged to form the United Methodist Church denomination and Blue Ridge Methodist Church became Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
In December of 2023, we returned to our traditional Wesleyan roots as Blue Ridge Methodist Church. Through prayer and discernment, our congregation made the decision to join the Global Methodist Church in March 2024. Join us as we grow together in our faith, experience God’s grace, and reach out to our community with the love of Christ.
