May you receive many blessings as you visit this dedicated space for prayer, solitude, and retreat. Much prayer and service has gone into preparing the land as a prayer garden. We find many examples throughout scripture about prayer. Some of the greatest examples are that of Jesus praying for his disciples and teaching them to pray. By extension, Jesus has done the same for us!
Is your heart heavy? Do you have needs to bring before God? Do you need a place to express your thanksgiving to God? In Mark 11:24, Jesus said, “So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” My prayer is that you and many others will be blessed as you spend time in this garden for prayer!
Blessings,
Pastor Sam Hamby
- The winding circular design of the Prayer Garden represents a simple labyrinth that meanders to take its visitors on a journey to find their faith center and then back out again into the world.
- The benches in the garden are made out of acacia wood. It was the wood used to build the Tabernacle and for the building of its utensils: the Ark of the Covenant, the Altar and Table, and the Pillars of the Curtain.
- The wooden pew and framed stained glass window in the chapel are from our old church, bringing their history and spirit to our new location.
- The center cross in the Prayer Garden was brought from our old church location and has been used for years in our Easter Sunrise Service.
- Take a private walk, stopping along the way on our benches, and pray for God’s guidance, strength, or healing in your life, loved one, or friend.
- Leave a prayer request in the Prayer Box located on a post in the chapel. The Pastor will receive those requests and offer prayer.
- Schedule a special prayer gathering for someone or a cause through the church office. The Prayer Team Coordinator will be contacted to make arrangements.
- Schedule a small, intimate gathering in the Prayer Garden Chapel for vow renewals, small family weddings, christenings, or memorial services with our church office.
- Join us for special days of prayer and celebration, whether it be for a National Day of Prayer or a religious holiday or event.

For the past 3 years, the BRMC landscape committee has been working on creating a flowering pollinator garden to encourage bees and butterflies and other pollinating insects such as flies, wasps and beetles as well as hummingbirds. Pollinators are essential to providing healthy ecological survival functions. At least 75% of all the flowering plants on earth are pollinated by insects and animals. This amounts to more than 1,200 food crops and 180,000 different types of plants. Some pollinators are at risk due to habitat loss and changes in distribution and chemical use. We strive to provide a sanctuary for pollinators to thrive both in the pollinator garden as well as blooming plants and shrubbery in the Prayer Garden. Our garden is located next to our retention pond to provide water source. We also allow seed plants to winter over to provide debris as nesting and breeding spots for pollinators.
